Administrative Region
Due to the narrow and elongated irrigation system under this station’s jurisdiction, it spans a wide administrative area, covering six townships and cities within Changhua County: Changhua City, Hemei Township, Shengang Township, Xianxi Township, Lukang Township, and Fenyuan Township. It also encompasses five related workstations (listed from upstream to downstream): Fenyuan Workstation, Changhua Workstation, Hemei Workstation, Shengang Workstation, and Lukang Workstation.
Irrigation Region
The irrigation area begins at the southern foothills of the Dadu River in the north, extends eastward to Bishan Temple in Fenyuan Township, reaches the Taiwan Strait in the west, and stretches southward to the Dapu and Citongjiao sections of Changhua City. The total irrigated area covers 4,125 hectares, primarily relying on water sources from the Maoluo River and Wu River. Along these rivers, the Xitou Upper Irrigation Pond, Xitou Lower Irrigation Pond, Fanzitian Canal, and Dongxi No. 2 and No. 3 Canals, as well as the Fuma Canal, have been established. Since the main Fuma Canal draws its water from these rivers, the stability of irrigation can be affected by weather conditions. As a result, some areas of Lukang Township still rely on return flows from the Babao No. 1 Canal drainage system for irrigation, using the Toubianpi Sluice Gate to divert water into the Toubian Canal, Xin Canal, and Gouliao Canal. Additionally, the Old Xinpi Canal diverts excess drainage from the Fuma Canal’s main line into the Siguzhen Canal for irrigation.
