Administrative Region
The Yuanlin Workstation is part of the organizational structure of the Irrigation Agency’s Changhua Management Office. The irrigation region is located on the plains beneath the slopes of the Bagua Mountain Range in central Changhua County. It borders the Bagua Mountain Range to the east and extends to the urban planning boundaries of Yuanlin Township to the west. The region is long and narrow from north to south and shorter from east to west, encompassing Yuanlin, Dacun, and Huatan Townships.

Irrigation Water Source
The irrigation water for this station is sourced from the Zhuoshui River system.

Irrigation Area
Water is drawn through the Jiji Weir and the North Main Canal, then diverted into the Shigou Lateral Canal via the Babao No. 1 Canal. The station features various sluice gates, including the Fanzilunpi Sluice Gate, Wubianpi Sluice Gate, and Gangweipi Sluice Gate, which channel water into the Dongshan and Fuzun Sub-lateral Canals, covering an irrigation area of 758 hectares.

Drainage System
The terrain in this area slopes gently from east to west and south to north, with a gradient of about 1 in 1000. It forms part of the Yangzicuo River drainage system. Minor and intermediate drainage channels flow into the Shigou, Pizitou, and Guogou Drains, which eventually merge and discharge into the ocean via the Yangzicuo River.

Agricultural Production
The terrain here is composed of alluvial sandy soils, known for their fertility and suitability for agriculture. Double-cropped rice is the primary crop, making this region one of Taiwan's most important agricultural areas.
