Irrigation Water Source
The Tongyuan Canal is composed of the Main Canal, First Lateral Canal, and seven subsidiary canals. The Main Canal and First Lateral Canal draw water from the Zhuoshui River, while other sources rely on springs and mountain runoff.
Irrigation Region
The irrigation area managed by this station is nestled in the southwestern part of Nantou City. To the east, it’s bordered by the Maoluo River, which separates it from the Central Mountain Range, while to the west, it sits on the sloping terrain of Bagua Mountain. The southern edge stretches to Bizitou in Ershui, and the northern boundary reaches close to Pinglin Bridge. This area includes the Tongyuan Canal Main Line, Tanliao Lateral Canal, Old Lateral Canal, and First Lateral Canal, creating a narrow, sloping region that runs from west to east. Altogether, the irrigated area covers approximately 1,463 hectares.
Agricultural Production
The primary crop is rice, with additional dryland crops such as vegetables and fruit trees.
