This Office helped organize the 2025 Ershui International Water-Splashing Festival at the Babao Canal No. 1 on November 1 & 2, 2025. The event featured the Canal Opening Ceremony, Waterway Opening Ceremony, and Water Splashing Event. A thanksgiving ritual was held at Mr. Lin’s Temple to honor the pioneering ancestor Shi Shi-Bang, who led the excavation of the Babao Canal, as well as showing gratitude to Mr. Lin for his guidance and other ancestors for their significant contributions. The ceremony also honored ancestors’ hard work and advanced water management techniques, which benefited the Changhua Plain, offered thanks to the Water Deity, and prayed for a rich harvest, while passing on the spirit of “being grateful and never forget your roots”.
Staff members of the Office set up a booth at the Water Use Control Center plaza to showcase various irrigation equipment of different capacities, including sprinkler heads and drip irrigation tapes. They engaged with the public to promote pipeline irrigation subsidy program and anti-fraud awareness campaign, disseminate promotional materials on pipeline irrigation and provide explanations of facility subsidies and application procedures for sprinkler irrigation, micro-sprinkler systems, perforated pipes, drip irrigation, power-driven equipment, and control and storage / regulation facilities, using interactive games and questionnaires to combine learning with entertainment, thereby helping the public better understand the initiatives that this Office was advancing.
